PAM to share insights on improving citizen experience with smart navigation at SEGD’s 50th anniversary event
Digital wayfinding platform PAM will join fellow global interdisciplinary thought leaders at the Society for Experiential Graphic Design (SEGD) annual conference in Washington DC, August 23-26, to highlight how smarter navigation and digital wayfinding can improve visitor and citizen experience.
As a sponsor, PAM will be presenting at the 2023 SEGD 50th Anniversary Experience Washington DC: Framing the Past to Envision our Future, the largest design celebration of the year.
“For fifty years, SEGD has facilitated conversations about a field of design focused on how people experience places,” PAM Chief Executive Officer Stephen Minning says.
“PAM is thrilled to be part of this milestone celebration.”
SEGD creates experiences that connect people to places. Its membership encompasses the breadth of the experiential graphic design community, with PAM dedicated to multidisciplinary and collaborative design processes that put user needs first.
This year, PAM’s Vice President Strategic Partnerships Jason Hutty will be presenting on digital wayfinding for smart city districts.
“We look forward to Jason having the opportunity to share how PAM is redefining how people navigate spaces,” Minning says.
“For us, experiential design is about developing environments that improve the visitor and citizen experience through smart city technology in order to make places safer, and more accessible and enjoyable.”
“PAM enables hyperlocal navigation, business and event information to be shared on the platform in order to connect city authorities with citizens, retailers with customers, and visitors with public places.”

Minning served on the SEGD board for six years, supporting educational initiatives and member development. He will take over from predecessors Carlo Giannasca and Nick Bannikoff as Sydney Chapter Chair this year.
“SEGD Chapters provide the experiential design community the time and place to connect and share expertise,” Minning says.
“We look forward to sharing our insights from PAM with the like-minded professionals who are developing our experiential design industry.”
Australia tends to perform well at the SEGD Global Design Awards, which is part of the upcoming anniversary event, demonstrating the Australian chapters’ commitment to experiential design excellence.
The four-day event also includes interactive workshops, tours, networking opportunities, case studies, and programming from renowned speakers celebrating the evolution and challenges of 50 years of experiential design. It is the only international event focused on creating experiences that connect people and place in the built environment.
“The world’s best tools to enhance the visitor and citizen experience will be on show,” Minning says.
