SYDNEY, 3rd August, 2026 — PAM, the smart navigation platform behind some of the world’s biggest live events, today announced a new partnership with the TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS, ahead of the 2026 event on Sunday, 30 August. PAM will deliver Smart Maps across the marathon course, the Running Show expo, and race week precincts, giving runners, supporters and volunteers one clear, live view of the city on the busiest day of the running calendar.

The partnership brings PAM’s navigation platform, already trusted by the PGA TOUR, NASCAR, Formula 1 and Tennis Australia, to Australia’s largest marathon and one of the  eight Abbott World Marathon Majors.

Frictionless navigation, from Miller Street to the Opera House

Marathon day reshapes the city street by street, with rolling road closures  changing by the hour as the course moves from North Sydney, over the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and on to the finish at the Sydney Opera House. PAM’s Smart Maps will have every closure and detour built directly into the platform, updated in real time, so runners, spectators, volunteers and local residents can find their way around race day without guesswork, turning what has always been the trickiest part of marathon weekend into frictionless navigation.

Integrating with TRACX

PAM’s Smart Maps will integrate with TRACX, the official event-day app already used to bring runner tracking and race-day updates to TCS Sydney Marathon’s community. Runners and fans can use the app to find key locations and destinations and exactly how to get there, all in one connected experience. It’s a great platform, and the PAM team is glad to be building alongside a team that already does a fantastic job keeping this event community connected on race day.

A city to discover, not just a course to run

Beyond the 42.2 kilometre course, PAM’s platform will help fans engage with the local businesses, cafes and bars along the route, and discover the events and activations taking place across race week, including the TCS Sydney Marathon Running Show, the event’s official expo, running from Thursday 27 to Saturday 29 August at Sydney Showground. The goal is to turn marathon weekend into a citywide experience that spectators and locals can explore, not just watch from the sidelines.

“Race week is a logistical puzzle for hundreds of thousands of runners and spectators, with the event footprint changing by the hour. PAM combines an intuitive digital map with real-time event overlays, giving fans, volunteers and local community a complete operational view of the event.

— Simon Bryan, Head of Operations, TCS Sydney Marathon

“TCS Sydney Marathon is the centrepiece, but race week takes over the whole city, from the TCS Sydney Marathon Running Show, through to the cafe and bars along the marathon course, Motion Festival at Customs House and entertainment across the city. PAM’ puts all of it into one place, which makes the city far easier to navigate and far more rewarding to explore..”

— Tim Wiche, Head of Marketing, TCS Sydney Marathon

“The TCS Sydney Marathon is one of the most iconic events on the Australian sporting calendar, and it’s exactly the kind of complex, moving environment PAM was built for. We’re excited to help runners and fans navigate the course with confidence, and to work alongside TRACX, who already do a great job keeping this event’s community connected on race day.”

— Brendan Mitchell, Marketing & Growth Manager, PAM

The Smart Map is now live on the TCS Sydney Marathon website, giving runners and fans an interactive view of the course and event precinct. Try it now.
